Co-located with Alston Primary School on the Church Road site in Alston, the School has strong community links and is very much a central part of life in the area. We have strong links to the local church and various other community groups on the Moor. Our active PTA organises any number of activities and events for the students – both in and out of school.
We have a three year Key Stage 3 curriculum and offer a range of GCSEs in Year 10 and Year 11.
The site is a busy one with the Alston Pre School located in the building as well as Children’s Centre activities overseen by Barnardos. We believe that the presence of these two organisations really strengthens what we can offer to our families and the wider community.

GCSE Results Day 2023
Congratulations to our students in years 11 and 10 for some excellent GCSE results this morning.
Nearly 60% of the grades are at grade 4 or better, and 10% are at the higher 7, 8 and 9 grades.
Our year 11 students are going off to an exciting range of 6th form courses ranging from the choice of traditional A’ level courses to vocational courses in building, engineering, childcare and hairdressing. We wish them all every success, and look forward to hearing about their future triumphs.
The majority of our students are going to be studying at New College, Durham. We are delighted that Westmorland and Furness Council are continuing the funding for this essential lifeline into high quality further education.
